My Story
DESTINY'S CALLING
Sometimes destiny comes knocking on your door, and that was precisely the case for me. Looking back, it should not have been a surprise to me that all the highs and lows of my life has led me to the mental health profession and eventually to finding my life purpose as a psychotherapist.

Growing up, I've always been very interested and curious of why different people make the different choices they did and thus live different quality of lives. Why do some people see bright sunny days ahead while others see doom and gloom, under the same circumstances? Why certain people survive setbacks and emerged an improved version of themselves, while others lose hope and crumble by the roadside?

Soon, it was my turn to experience life's trials and triumphs. Like so many others, I too joined the never-ending rat race, climbed the career ladder, experience love, built a family and the whole conundrum called 'life'. The earlier two decades of my career was in human resources where I excelled and thrived in managing staff motivation, productivity and performances, talent development as well as mentoring employees in their career progression. And for more than a decade, I was holding a portfolio in human resources and retail at management level. But somewhere along the line, I begun to grapple with stress, anxiety and panic attacks. These symptoms lasted for years, and surprisingly, I was totally unaware of what was happening to me as I was feeling rather fulfilled at work. Insomnia and more anxiety filled my days and yet I still soldiered on in my role as a working mother with a demanding career.

While I was, no doubt, enjoying my rewarding career, it began to feel like a crucial piece was missing from my life. At a certain point, I had started to question - "what is my purpose in this life?", "Why am I going through these challenges and pain?", "Why are there so many unhappy and unfulfilled people just existing and going through the motions as opposed to actually 'living' and enjoying their lives?" “How is it that despite understanding all these positive motivational concepts on a logical perspective, I and many others like me failed to get 'unstuck'?”
And here's the thing – even with all the self-help books and motivational quotes, sometimes you just can't easily "snap out of it."

It was at this juncture of my life that I stumbled upon hypnotherapy and its ability to remove blockages in both the conscious and subconscious level of the mind. It was a lightbulb moment! And that was the start of my journey towards psychotherapy works. My passion for understanding the human mind and helping others navigate their own struggles and find their way to a happier, healthier life was reignited, and the rest, as they say, is history…
